Maryland Requirements Complete

XpertHR is on track to have all 50 states and the District of Columbia by the end of July. We are completing states on a rolling basis until then and are now up to 33 "states" with the completion of Maryland this week.

Our Maryland Employment Law Coverage

XpertHR covers the complete spectrum of labor and employment law for Maryland employers. For example, did you know:

  • As of October 1, 2012, Maryland employers will be prohibited from requiring job applicants and employees to provide their login information to private social media accounts.
  • Maryland has a wiretapping statute that prohibits an individual from recording a conversation without the consent of all the parties to the conversation. Internet communications may be subject to the Maryland wiretap law.
  • The Maryland Flexible Leave Act (MFLA) does not require that employers provide a paid leave of absence, only that employees be allowed to use any paid leave that they have earned under the employer's policies. The MFLA does not dictate how an employee's leave accrues under an employer's policy (i.e. who is eligible, are there waiting periods for accrual).

This is but a taste of the depth and breadth provided to our Maryland subscribers!
